Vampires


From all of the Vampire Movies I have seen I can agree on one thing. They use the superiority theory to mess around with normal people to make scenes that are hilarious. For example, I used to be a long-time fan of true blood which revolves around a vampire who has come to New Orleans and his girlfriend. There are always these funky scenes where the graphics are so unreal that it just makes the movie funnier. I always enjoy the way that the actors mess around with their prey which uses the incongruity theory because I cannot understand it. But although you say these movies are funny I have always found them to be pretty intense dramas to. For example, using true blooded again, the girl always gets saved by his boyfriend and eventually turns her into a vampire which is to be expected, because who would not want to live forever. So, while I see that these movies are funny I cannot help but tell you that they generally involve a romance. And while that romance can make the movie funny or not. I did not find the movie that funny. Maybe it’s because I find movies with mainstream actors more attractive simply because I know them more and know what to expect. Or maybe it’s simply because I don’t find people that are unhuman comedic. Anyways I like movies that have a more serious backstory and have more to laugh at then just normal mundane life with a bunch of vampires.     That's interesting that it wasn't funny to you. Do you think the True Blood aspect was part of that? Did you think it was a parody?

Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry are two characters that fascinate me. Over the course of the show you can see tome and jerry constantly fighting one another for the supremacy of the house that they own. Tom constantly acts like he is the one who runs the house when in actuality he has no control over the house at all. Jerry the mouse likes to take things that are going on with Tom and mess with him and his ego so he gets infuriated that he is not superior to Jerry. For example, I remember that Tom always likes to set traps for Jerry over the course of the show. However, Tom quickly realizes that he is never smart enough with his traps for Jerry. Vine

Since the last post was about vines I want to take a little time to discuss my experience with the Vine app and what types of comedy it uses. Vine itself is an app where users load up 5 second pictures of their lives to capture a moment that affected them. Think about it, 5 seconds to make an impression, but if we look at it other apps like Snapchat and Instagram have taken advantage of the fact that you can use 5 second clips to really make an impression on someone. For example, Logan Paul who came out on Social media used its platform to creat 5 second clips of the most absurd things. I remember one of the clips that he posted had him jumping in front of a car to save a cat. This is an example of the incongruity theory simply because of the absurd ness of this clip.
